This 3 day tour leaves from Windhoek and travels over the spectacular Khomas, Hochland to the awe-inpiring desert sea of the Namib. Catch a glimpse of Namibia’s beautiful wildlife on the way. A must-do experience while in Namibia.

Itinerary

DAY 1: WINDHOEK TO SESRIEM ( Le Mirage Desert Lodge or similar)

Collection time is between 08:00 and 08:30 from anywhere within Windhoek. Windhoek is surrounded by mountains and we pass first over the Eros Mountains and then over the Khomas Hochland Range. As we come through the mountains we drop down from the central Namibian plateau to grassy desert savannah. We stop at Solitaire for petrol and perhaps also afternoon tea before we continue to our first night at the Namib Desert Lodge. We aim to arrive during the late afternoon. (400 KM)

DAY 2: SESRIEM TO SOSSUSVLEI ( Le Mirage Desert Lodge or similar)

Early start to catch the soft light of the sunrise over the desert. After passing through Sesriem we continue towards Sossusvlei with sand dunes along both sides of the road. We will stop at the famous Dune 45.Those who feel fit may climb the dune and get a breath-taking view of the surrounding Namibian desert. After breakfast we will take a desert walk in the cool of the morning, with the chance of seeing gemsboks, springboks, black-backed jackals and ostriches.As the day cools down we will go on a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon before heading back

DAY 3: MIRAGE DESERT LODGE ( 400 Km)

Early start and back to Windhoek on scenic roads through the Khomas Hochland Mountain Range. We will arrive back in the city in the afternoon and you will be dropped off at your accommodation on our return.

This tour has been designed for those who want to experience some of the pleasures of Namibia’s Atlantic coast after a tour to the desert

Itinerary

DAY 1: WINDHOEK TO SESRIEM (Le Mirage Desert Lodge or similar)

DAY 3 : SESRIEM & SWAKOPMUND (Beach Hotel or similar)

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side, watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons and to visit the salt works. Overnight at the guesthouse. Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant and is included in the tour.

DAY 4 : SWAKOPMUND (Beach Hotel or similar)

In the morning we will go on an excursion to the seal colony at Cape Cross, north of Swakopmund, where we will be able to experience thousands of fur seals at close range. The rest of the day will be free with plenty of time to explore the town. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic is quite cold here) and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium is located in Swakopmund. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. These include a boat-tour (with oysters and champagne!), scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or in a boat), quad-bike trips into the desert and over the sand dunes around Swakopmund, sandboarding, skydiving and many other activities. Your guide will discuss all the possible optional activities with you and offer to make pre-bookings in advance. (N.B. all extra activities in Swakopmund are subject to availability and are made at the client’s own risk and expense). Dinner today is not included in the cost of the safari and will be at the client’s own expense. (350 Km)

DAY 5 : SWAKOPMUND TO WINDHOEK (350 Km)

Today we will return to Windhoek, passing by marble and gold mines and Namibia’s largest craft market in Okahandja, the administrative centre of the Herero people. Back in Windhoek you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

DAY 1: SWAKOPMUND

We travel to swakopmund and upon arrival in the afternoon we check  into our hotel, after we have the rest of the day to our own disposal. with palm-lined streets and seaside promenades, Swakopmund is a very popular holiday destination in namibia. For the international guest, swakopmund is a bohemian mix of german architecture and african time, laid back time attitude with adrenaline activities, misty mornings and desert heat. it is colourful, it is vibrant, but most of all, its fun.

DAY 2: SWAKOPMUND

Swakopmund is often referred as to a” playground of Namibia” it has numerous activities ranging from adventure to exploring the fascinating features of the Namib desert and the animals and plants that occur and survive here. embrace relaxed pace of this idyllic coastal town whilst enjoying coffee and freshly backed pastries in one of many cafes. Alternatively explore the rugged, sweltering desert on a day tour  or view this awesome, environment from air on a scenic flight. find your inner child and push adrenaline to its limits with extreme adventures such us skydiving over the desert or quad biking and sand boarding on the dunes.

DAY 3: DAMARALAND

Heading further north, we travel via brandberg, Namibias highest mountain, into damaraland, one of the least populated and geologically diverse areas in Africa.
This harsh, rocky environment is home to the rare desert adapted elephant, the black rhino and free-roaming antelope species. we visit Twyfelfontein, a heritage site where bushman communities engraved and painted over 2500 pictures some 600 years ago. After a visit to a nearby living museum of the damara, we proceed to the petrified forest – a geological phenomenon depicting the metamorphosis  of living material into stone. we encounter the welwitschia mirabilis plant, the oldest ling desert plant on earth.

DAY 4: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

After a relaxed breakfast, we travel towards the Etosha national park, famous for its vast amount of variety of wildlife. once we have reached our camp located outside of Etosha national Park, we have the rest of the day at leisure, but can optionally also book an afternoon guided game drive in an open game drive vehicle with the lodge.

DAY 5&6: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Etosha National Park
The day is devoted purely to the abundant wildlife found in the Etosha National Park, which surrounds a  parched salt desert known as Etosha pan. The park is home to four of the big five – Elephant lion, rhino and  leopard. the park was proclaimed as Namibia’s first conservation area in 1907 by the then governor, von Lindquist. game viewing in the park is largely focused around the waterholes , ideal places to sit and watch over 114 different game species, or for an avid bidder, in excess of 340 bird species.
popular game species such as giraffe, blue wildebeest, plain and mountain zebras, springbok, kudu, impala, elephants, rhino, leopard, hyena, lion, cheetah, and many more are found here.. an extensive network of roads link over 30 water holes allowing the visitors an opportunity to do a real game viewing safari over the stretch over the park as each different area will provide different encounters.
we will stay 3 nights in and around Etosha.

DAY 7: RETURNING TO WINDHOEK

After Breakfast, we continue southwards to Windhoek. we will visit the craft market in Okahandja, where after we are drooped off at the hotel or at the international airport for our return flight.
